Vertigo Treatment Program
Vertigo (BPPV) is a common cause of dizziness in the elderly and often results in dangerous falls or at the very least, a life of restricted activity and compromised quality as the patient tries to avoid falls. In the past, most vertigo treatments have focused on symptomatic treatments such as anti-nausea medication, and unfortunately have been of limited success.
Our new Vertigo Program utilizes the Canalith-Repositioning Procedure (CRP) which impacts the actual disease process, not just the symptoms. The Canalith-Repositioning Procedure (CRP) has been endorsed by the American Academy of Neurology as “safe and highly effective to treat patients of all ages with posterior BPPV, which makes up about 90% of cases.” (May 27th issue of Neurology) We have been pleased to find that many patients experience relief with the first treatment.
