Q: In general, how many days a week
should a person exercise? To be serious about it,
do I have to workout 7 days a week?
Most of the current literature suggests exercising
a minimum of 3 days per week, with 4-5 days a week
being preferred. Remember, E is for exercise, not
exhaustion. For most people, 7 days a week is just
too much, because it doesn't allow the body time to
heal and refuel. Pushing too hard can leave you feeling
chronically fatigued, as well as put you at risk for
injury. Remember, the best fitness program is one
that you can stick with.
